This is one of my favorite songs I’ve co-written. Allie Farris is a phenomenal and prolific folk singer/songwriter and I had met her through a mutual friend, vocal coach Tom McKinney. We reconnected somehow (I can’t remember what the circumstances were) and decided to get together and write. I came over to her place while she was in town (which is rare – she tours constantly) and we literally wrote this one in about 2-3 hours after talking about love, and how it can mess everything up. However – being that we’re both slightly optimistic we ended up with this title – that love won’t let you down.

It was produced by Ben Jackson, and I think he did a great job with it. Although I always love producing the songs I co-write, it’s always a treat when I get to write something, walk away, and see how it all works out in the end. In this case, I definitely wasn’t let down. Thanks again, Allie Farris for letting me write this beautiful song with you, I can’t wait for the next one!
